Hell of a way to get a day off.
Had a fire at my work place last Tursday. Paint booth ignited when the guy three the swtch at the start of the day. Twas the exhast fan. No one got hurt and no one was ever really in danger. and we were back to work friday morning after a small group of people did some clean up. Mostly removing water from the building after the sprinkler system came on. From the smell of the place Friday morning you'd have thought someone tried to crap a paint booth.

Hope you got paid. Fires are messy operations. Fire fighters are not the neatest personel when they go to work either

We did full day to. The pay ain't crap but it is consistent. Don't know how much longer I can manage though. Damned arthritis in my back seems to be getting worse and this global cooling in these parts isn't helping a damn bit.

Move up here. The ground is bare, still ice on the lake but this time last year we still had over 2' of snow on the ground. Global warming is here.
I just hope I can keep my sanity until the wife can get on Medicare. Then I can quit that fucking jail. I have run out of patience with these morons that I have to deal with. Some of them are inmates. Gonna try and get a nice mindless job where I don't have to interact with too many people, like greeter at WalMart, or dish washer at McDonalds. At least until I can manufacture enough stuff in the 'man cave' to sell at craft fairs.

Good thing knowone was hurt
Patom I hear you on not wanting to deal with people anymore
I get some real winners to deal with as well...a lot of them coming in directly from the jail, or the dhs office.

A lot of them must come to you complaining because SS and other benefits that they live on outside jail are cut off while they are incarcerated, if convicted. Another reason to speed up the trial business. Our courts are so backed up that a lot of inmates who don't have bail money sit for many months waiting for a trial date.

They all complain about various things...that def being one of them. Or they do their taxes and end up in jail before they can come pick up the check
...or their spouse goes to jail and they dont have an account to cash the check without them present. Or the state takes their refund since they were incarcerated part of the year in Oklahoma anyway.

Re: Hell of a way to get a day off.
Wife worked customer service for Sears Service for more than a decade. Don't know how she stood it. The customer may always be right but more than occassionally in that line of work he/she is a total idiot and the south end of a North bound horse into the bargain. Some of the stuff she shared with me was hilarious like the woman who called in wanting emergency repairs for her dishwasher because there were no clean dishes left in the house. Some were obscene like the ass that cussed her out because Sears wouldn't replace his lawn mower after he tried to mulch a tree stump with it.
And some were just weird like the guy who was mad because his maintenance agreement only replaced one lawn mower blade a year. Hell I do good to have a lawn mower last long enough to wear out a blade.

Hint garyd, buy a Honda lawn mower. All the others are made by the same company in China. They just change the labels and paint schemes. You can't buy one with an operating choke on them anymore and there are no carb adjustments. If they don't work right you have to replace the whole dam carb.

If I could afford it I would. Then again I could cut my yard with a weed whacker without much trouble. Great big mobile home, little tiny lot.
